But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:22
Art + Design
After a bit of a hiatus from selling my art prints, I’m really excited to share that they’re back on the market! And just in time for Christmas (wink, wink). I recently found a really neat online community called Society6 and opened up my own little shop. Right now I have a handful of professional quality giclee art prints available for purchase, including three of the historic Fort Benning homes that were popular when we lived in Georgia. I have no idea if anyone out there is still interested (we’ll see I guess, haha), but I’m just excited to have them available for order again!
On that note, I really, really appreciate all of you guys that encouraged me to get this going a few years ago. When I first got started I honestly cringed at the thought of selling anything to anybody. But thanks to Thane’s prodding, interest from some of you guys, and- as always- the grace of God, I was blessed to make a (very, very small) business out of one of my passions. It was a shame to have to put it on the back burner for so long, but it got a lot harder to manage it once we moved away from Georgia and the little gift shop on Benning (that carried my prints) closed down. I’ve mulled over opening an Etsy shop, but the prospect of managing the orders and having them printed, processed, and shipped from a different part of the country just seemed too complicated. But the good news is Society6 offers such an easy, streamlined method for “opening shop” again. We’ll see how it goes!
Oh and FYI, I added a link to the top menu called “I SELL ART!” that will take you right to the shop. Take a look!
Hi friends! In the midst of waiting on the warmer weather- it’s just starting to show up, praise God!- and the arrival of the new little boy, we’re still chugging along and doing our best to make the most of the end of this long winter. Which means more painting and crafting indoors, one of our projects being this owl that Asher I joined forces on a little while back; I did the drawing, he did the water coloring. I wish there was the time to do more like this.
Happy spring to those of you in warmer climates, and for the rest of us- we’re almost there.
P.S. Don’t miss the latest new daily bible reading series on She Reads Truth. It’s a short, 14 day plan and it’s all about the risen Christ! What a joyful breath of fresh air to be on the other side of the sobering days leading up to Easter. Now we can give ourselves fully to the celebration of the truth that our Redeemer lives! Thanks be to God for His unfailing plan of justice, grace, and salvation in the lives of those who believe.
And he said to me “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know”. Ezekiel 37:3
I love this verse from Ezekiel. There’s something so simple yet so profound about it. Maybe just because there will never be a time in any of our lives where we can’t tell the Lord, “O Lord God, you know.” Whether our day is a joyful one, a boring one, a tragic one, or just so-so, He always knows and He always understands.
Life seems to be slowing down just a tiny bit lately, so I want to take advantage of it and commit to spending more time in my bible. Not just for the sake of “doing more”, but for the sake of soaking it in and drawing near to Christ in a more genuine way. The way you sometimes have to make a point of doing even with your own spouse and children when you find yourself juggling needs, wants, and schedules that don’t seem to let up on their own. And I want to share some of these timeless pieces of the Word in a fun new way, hence the graphic poster! These are quick little projects, but who knows how many I’ll be able to do…life won’t slow down for long. But even if it’s just this one, I hope it’s a blessing and a reminder of our good and sovereign and ever available God who has truth, peace and blessing ready to give to every single one of us!
